Full Tilt Poker Review
The Mac OS client for Full Tilt Poker was downloaded from the  Full Tilt Poker website without any issues and installed in a snap. Registering for a new account was quick and easy as well, leading to the exact same interface that is available to PC users. Mac users can rest assured that they won't have any issues running the software on OS X. Software updates are made on a regular basis (about once a week) with the Mac client informing you of the update and prompting you to install the new software.
Updates are much quicker than the initial install and will only hold you up for a minute or two, which is something to keep in mind if you are running late for a tournament. Luckily, if you are running late, most of the Full Tilt tournaments feature late registration.
The Full Tilt poker interface looks like it was designed by Mac users for Mac users with it's cartoonish interface, it definitely doesn't feel like a Windows product like some of the other poker rooms. Don't let the look fool you however as Full Tilt poker is one of the more challenging poker rooms online. Thanks to a great name in the industry among poker pros (many of whom play on the site and are signified by their own custom avatars) and the large variety of games from low to high stakes, the competition level is tougher than you might find elsewhere.
The gaming environment is fairly customizable. You first get to choose your avatar from one of several dozen options. You can then change your expression when on the table to show happiness or anger which can help in determining (or faking) online tells. The table view features customizable backgrounds and a few different player layouts so you can setup the table to be viewed at your comfort level. The software also keeps track of your playing history, allowing you to visually replay past hands (a very useful feature).
